Plassteze supplies CNC wirecut EDM machines (wire electrical discharge machining) for cutting complex profiles, punches, dies and mould components with micron-level accuracy in hardened materials across India. Wire EDM is essential for manufacturing punch and die sets, progressive dies, injection mould inserts and precision parts from hardened tool steel and carbide.
A wirecut EDM machine uses a thin brass wire (typically 0.25 mm diameter) to cut through hardened metal by electrical discharge. It is used for cutting complex 2D and tapered profiles in tool steel, carbide and other hard materials — including punches, dies, mould inserts and complex shapes.
Modern CNC wirecut EDM machines can achieve positional accuracy of ±0.002 mm and surface finishes of Ra 0.2 μm or better, making them suitable for the most precise tool and die applications.
Wirecut EDM uses a travelling wire to cut 2D profiles through a workpiece. Sinker EDM uses a shaped electrode to sink a 3D cavity into the workpiece. Both use electrical discharge erosion but serve different applications in the tool room.
Plassteze supplies CNC wirecut EDM machines from offices in Delhi, Pune, Chennai and Gujarat. Contact plassteze@plassteze.com or +91-98102-99598.
